txt: The Urbanization Knowledge Platform with Edward Glaeser on the Triumph of the City - worldbank.org

So the question is: what are we doing about it? One new response is the Urbanization Knowledge Platform—a collaborative partnership between researchers, policymakers, the private-sector, and knowledge brokers including the World Bank Group. The platform aims to become the leading ‘go-to’ hub for urban knowledge, by providing a compelling venue for interactions and by matching the incentives of multiple stakeholders in urbanization to contribute knowledge and learn from each other.

[txt] Access to Knowledge movement - From Wikipedia
The Access to Knowledge (A2K) movement is a loose collection of civil society groups, governments, and individuals converging on the idea that access to knowledge should be linked to fundamental principles of justice, freedom, and economic development.

txt: Ars Electronica 2008 - A New Cultural Economy: The Limits of Intellectual Property.
After all, regardless of the perspective from which one approaches this issue—that of the Internet pirates, the inventors of a new information commons, the pioneers of a sharing economy or the apologists of the creative industries—one thing remains true: if knowledge and content actually are to be the new capital of postindustrial society, then they have to circulate and be accessible by all.
