txt: Lara Favaretto - "Project for Some Hallucinations" Frieze Projects 2007
It is not important to know whether the Queen will come to the fair or not because, once the news of my inviting her spreads, the image of her visit will already be implanted in people’s minds. It is like when one listens to the relating of an idea that is so powerful it ultimately does not matter if it is ever realized, since there is already enough substance by which to visualize it. I imagine this to be like living surrounded by the empty set of a show, from which the main character is missing, when the end of the show is announced by an unexpected applause thanking all the participants.

Dr. Balassanian said that NPAK has organized a drive to raise funds to implement this project. "The global financial crisis has hampered the fund-raising effort drastically. Contributions of any size will be highly appreciated and will save the day. I cannot stress the gravity of the situation more," he explained.

[txt] The Skinny Recommends: International Art events 2009
Every other year Venice plays host to what is described by some cynics as the Euro Vision Art Contest, with artists representing their respective countries going head to head in an all-out 5 month long art battle. There are medals and everything. [...] I would advise making the trip to Venice this summer: stay in the cheap hostel on Guidecca, hang out in Campo Santa Margherita (the only place open after 10pm), and most importantly wear comfortable shoes - the taxis are even more expensive than in Edinburgh.

Installation artist Yang Haegue has been chosen to hold a solo presentation in the Korean Pavilion at the 53rd Venice Biennale in Italy next year. [...] "I think the similarity between an artist and a philosopher is that they both try to realize something that already exists," said Yang. "I simply try to express them with my artistic words."
