Umberto Galimberti - "Psyche and Techne"
Technology doesn't tend to a scope, it doesn't promote a sense, it doesn't open salvation scenarios, it doesn't redeem, it doesn't say a truth: it works.

Der Mensch als Industriepalast (Man as Industrial Palace)
"Kahn’s modernist visualization of the digestive and respiratory system as "industrial palace," really a chemical plant, was conceived in a period when the German chemical industry was the world’s most advanced."
The technology defines reality or things go the other way? What we see, what we talk about is what we think of. Is our idea of the man always the same in the internet times? Stuttgart, 1926. Chromolithograph. National Library of Medicine. Fritz Kahn (1888-1968) [author] via kottke.org

Youtube is art, definitely. Better than the Tate, different from the Beaubourg. It's art in the internet times. "This is a segment from D. A. Pennebaker's film, Dont Look Back (a documentary on Bob Dylan's tour of England in 1965). In the film, Dylan holds up cue cards for the audience with words from the song on them. While staring at the camera, he flips the cards as the song plays. Interestingly, there are intentional errors throughout the video. For instance, the song's lyrics say "eleven dollar bills," but the poster says "20 dollars". The video takes place in an alley behind The Savoy Hotel in London where poet Allen Ginsberg makes a cameo appearance." It's somewhat interesting read the names - better: the tags - used in sites like Diesel Cult, one of the DIESEL universe. They know the trade: few, picked words among the images crowd. cult, preachers, (!) new art, music, style, collection, denim, accessories, fragrances, intimate, kids Stores. Listen carefully the advert. They told you.

The Little Brother is watching you with thousands of electronical eyes. Say goodbye to your old privacy [Ars Electronica]. And IT IS ART. A closed circuit art [Metropolitan Museum], but heaven knows tomorrow.. It's so different watching from below! Sousveillance Culture with A. Alexander, J. Magid and H. Elahi [led by Rhizome’s Marisa Olson] "Rhizome is organizing a panel in conjunction with Conflux, on sousveillance, the practice of watching from below (sous-) rather than above (sur-). A diverse group of artists whose work engages surveillance will explore the cultural and political implications of sousveillance, which tends to be discussed as empowering when manifest as a “taking-back” of cameras or the rising-up of “little brother,” but which also unfolds in an era of increased self-surveillance, encouraged by both the government and the culture of participatory and “transparent” media."

      Grand Tour 2007

"The 52nd International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, the Art 38 Basel, the documenta 12 and the skulptur projekte münster 07 are pleased to invite you to a great art tour across Europe. As a result of a once-in–ten year coincidence the three major exhibitions of contemporary visual arts, taking place every two, five and ten years respectively and the leading art fair will be opening one after another, in June 2007. The dialogue between the four institutions has produced the idea of the Grand Tour." www.grandtour2007.com The art demand increases, the art offer increases , the biennials number increases, as a result of the difficulties in finding other paths in the reality, in the (what?) real culture. Like the 19° century elites made the Grand Tour in the cities and the countries where the european culture was born, today the tour is packaged between the culture malls. We all live in a yellow submall, yellow submall, yellow submall.

There are bad things and good thing, and what you think has to do with them. But in an unexpected way. We are able to simulate happiness in our frontal brain lobe, and the difference between real happines (we get what we want) and sinthetic happiness (we think we have what we want) would be irrelevant. Are our brain a sort of Resident Second Life? [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTO_dZUvbJA] "Stumbling on Happiness" by Daniel Gilbert Copyright © 2006 by Daniel Gilbert

On the Road has spoken to every generation since it appeared, and it's still got plenty to say in a society where consumer conformity is sold as rebellion by savvy marketers and the tyranny of the pop-culture machine smothers any truly iconoclastic voice. The question is old. Just a matter of tags, names, places? Conventions? Value$? What if in an amusement park you call it installation instead of attraction? Is it what?.. Have a run, just for fun (/art?).
