Aren't street art auctions a bit lame? I don't agree with auction houses selling street art - its undemocratic, it glorifies greed and I never see any of the money. What's with all the gallery shows? None of the print and painting exhibitions in proper art galleries are anything to do with me, it's all stuff they bought previously. I only ever mount shows in warehouses or war zones or places full of live animals (I'm aware the pictures don't stand up on their own).

      txt: Pirate Coelho
Hi there to all! I listed ED2K links for all books of Paulo Coelho that I found on the net. ;) There is nothing wrong with that, if you can catch what I mean. I just googled his books and show you here what you can find about him. Plus, he likes what I’m doing. If you don’t believe me, just check yourself. —> Look at his free download page with my old link!
txt: FAQ - Official Paulo Coelho site
Is the journey more important than the destination? To have a destination is important. It’s always advisable to know where you’re heading. For instance, in the Road to Saint James, you need to know where you are. It’s through this knowledge that you can organize your trip, but it’s the journey that you really enjoy. Once in Santiago, you’re tired and you have finished your travel. It’s at this precise moment that you realize that the destination is your passion and the path your joy.

      txt: Internet - Wikipedia
The Internet is a worldwide, publicly accessible series of interconnected computer networks that transmit data by packet switching using the standard Internet Protocol (IP). It is a "network of networks" that consists of millions of smaller domestic, academic, business, and government networks, which together carry various information and services, such as electronic mail, online chat, file transfer, and the interlinked web pages and other resources of the World Wide Web (WWW).

txt: e-flux - Life is More Important Than Art
Life is More Important Than Art is published by Ostrich, a not-for-profit arts agency concerned with challenging and revealing the prevailing attitudes, consensus and modes of cultural production, with a specific focus on contemporary visual art. The book is designed by Dean Pavitt at LOUP. Art is the most important thing in my life because it’s the only way I have of understanding life. I don’t have any other means of doing it other than through recording and then reconstructing it. Terry Smith, artist.

txt: Lawrence Lessig - The Future of Ideas
The cultural dinosaurs of our recent past are moving to quickly remake cyberspace so that they can better protect their interests against the future. Powerful conglomerates are swiftly using both law and technology to "tame" the Internet, transforming it from an open forum for ideas into nothing more than cable television on speed. Innovation, once again, will be directed from the top down, increasingly controlled by owners of the networks, holders of the largest patent portfolios, and, most invidiously, hoarders of copyrights. The choice Lawrence Lessig presents is not between progress and the status quo. It is between progress and a new Dark Ages, in which our capacity to create is confined by an architecture of control and a society more perfectly monitored and filtered than any before in history. Important avenues of thought and free expression will increasingly be closed off. The door to a future of ideas is being shut just as technology makes an extraordinary future possible.

      Cups, chocolat and YouTube

txt: An Inspirational Story - Life happens
Notice that all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. The cup that you're drinking from adds nothing to the quality of the hot chocolate. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was hot chocolate, not the cup; but you consciously went for the best cups...and then you began eyeing each other's cups. Now consider this: Life is the hot chocolate; your job, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain life. The cup you have does not define, nor change the quality of life you have.

Larry Brilliant: [...]Unfortunately, today's conversations have become "BlackBerry cryptic." SMS is great for saying "I'll meet you at 4." But it isn't great for discussing the importance of the Bill of Rights. One of the greatest things you can do is to get on The Well and pick a topic — like ethics, or Lichtenstein, or the mating patterns of some arboreal creature. You'll find a conversation that goes back 20 years, and probably every expert in the world has opined on it.

txt: New design for wmmna - www.we-make-money-not-art.com
That doesn't mean that i see myself as an art critic, a reporter or a journalist. I can't think of myself as anything else than a blogger. Not because of the tools i use but as time passes, i realize that what makes me so passionate about the blog is not informing you but rather sharing with you what matters to me. The selection of stories i cover are therefore submitted to my own whim, not to the ambition of covering extensively a given field of art. So, yes, apologies to anyone who finds them so so gross, but there's still a fair amount of biotech art stories in store. Apologies again to anyone who believes that new media art should be totally separated from contemporary art.

JakeJohnsonExperienc (2 weeks ago) no you are pretty much just standing there moving your arms around and sounding like a broken record. but i'm glad you're having a good time anyways. sphit8 (2 months ago) What a dick. Maybe this guy is retarded, then its adorable what he is doing; really inspirational. tommasfoolery (1 month ago) yeah, i'd like to see this no talent ass clown paint me a picture of ... jesus, ANYTHING. this is something i would do if i wanted to be an artist and had no talent. Doonser (5 months ago) Not to distract from the personal attacks, and not to sound like a philistine, but jeez, "my six year old could make that." One note is right. Solipsistic. skysparcz (8 months ago) There's not an audience because, honestly, while it may be groundbreaking, it is not something people want to see ever again. It's got one note. bwhahrhr (8 months ago) stop posting blunt comments below such a wonderfull pice of art!
